Black Jersey Giant
Black Jersey Giants, which are very attractive, are the largest of the dual-purpose breeds. Although, they may have some white feathers from the time of hatching until they molt their juvenile plumage, they are solid black when mature, but they do not have as much green sheen as Black Australorps.
Black Jersey Giants have yellow foot pads.
Produce brown shelled eggs.
Jersey Giants don't fully mature until close to 2 years of age.
Standard (APA) weights at maturity are males-13 lbs. and hens-10 lbs.
